My Last 2nd Class

Last class for today is about Knowledge Management System (KMS), Information System (IS) acquisition, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).

Knowledge Management System (KMS)

Knowledge Management System (KMS) is conversion of information to knowledge or capture the knowledge as we can transform the knowledge from intangible to become tangible. 

Information System (IS) acquisition

The acquisition of information systems can either involve external sourcing or rely on internal development or modification. IS acquisition can be divided into 4 types:

1) In house (use source of company to develop system)

2) outsource (outsource third party to develop system) 

3) on-shelf (buy on shelf)

4) SDLC (System development lifecycle)

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Customer relationship management (CRM) is a term that refers to practices, strategies and technologies that companies use to manage and analyze customer interactions and data throughout the customer lifecycle, with the goal of improving business relationships with customers, assisting in customer retention and driving sales growth.It is the most effective to retain customer rather than seek  new potential customer as low cost of advertising needed. For example, used of information system for forecasting; so, old customer will come visit again and created an E-wom (E-word of mouth) for other people. Therefore, this issues ale to increase the sales of the company via E-WOM. 

Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Supply chain management (SCM) is a process used by companies to ensure that their supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. A supply chain is the collection of steps that a company takes to transform raw components into the final product. 

It is important in every food industry for traceability. There are 2 component: upstream and downstream must fulfill to supply chain management. Upstream supply chain usually deal with suppliers, purchases and production lines; while, downstream supply chain covers the whole selling segment including negotiation, after-sales and recycling. For example, group all supplier in one vertical integration. Besides that, SCM consists of 3 main flows: materials, information and financial flows. In SCM always consider for push model and pull model. In the pull system production orders begin upon inventory reaching a certain level, while on the push system production begins based on demand (forecasted or actual demand).

There are 5 basic components in SCM: plan, source, make, deliver and return, these components are in a cycle form.

1) Plan: A plan or strategy must be developed to address how a given good or service will meet the needs of the customers.

2) Source:It involves building a strong relationship with suppliers of the raw materials needed in making the product the company delivers. This phase involves not only identifying reliable suppliers but also planning methods for shipping, delivery, and payment. Companies must choose suppliers to deliver the goods and services they need to create their product.

3) Make: The product is manufactured, tested, packaged, and scheduled for delivery. This is the manufacturing step. Supply chain managers schedule the activities necessary for production, testing, packaging and preparation for delivery. This is the most metric-intensive portion of the supply chain - one where companies are able to measure quality levels, production output and worker productivity.

4) Deliver: Then, at the logistics phase, customer orders are received and delivery of the goods is planned. 

5) Return: During this stage, customers may return defective products. The company will also address customer questions in this stage.  Supply chain planners have to create a responsive and flexible network for receiving defective and excess products back from their customers and supporting customers who have problems with delivered products.

However, any solutions to supply chain problems???

Yes, there are 4 inventories methods used to the problems: vertical integration, JIT inventory, information sharing and vendor-managed inventory (VMI). 

My Final Semester - Week 13

GEC Summit 2017

Today is a great experiences for me to explore in new things during my uni life. Fortunately, I have a last chance learning outside from school with my course-mate. I believe that it will be a unforgettable meaningful memories  as GEC is a new things for us to explore. This is my first time to attend a conference with many successful businessman either within our generation or experiences businessman. From this conference, I learnt how their tries to adopt their business with technology as nowadays is known as technology world; although I'm not fully understand what they discuss about. From this conference, I realized that all industry will be instead by Industry 4.0 in future.

Industry 4.0 consists of 3 main things: 

1. Autonomous Technology

Autonomous technologies are any kind of technology that can function without being told what to do by a human. Robots in science fiction movies are a good example of autonomy technology. Autonomy technology is being designed for many applications as it seeks to reduce the reliance on human factors - which generally comes with less errors and more efficiency. Example: Autonomous Warehouse Robotics

2. Data Analytics

Data analytics (DA) is the process of examining data sets in order to draw conclusions about

the information they contain, increasingly with the aid of specialized systems and software

3. Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects that contain embedded technology to

communicate and sense or interact with their internal states or the external environment.

Apart from the workshop, a lot of interesting exhibition can be found in GEC. For example, our UPM was innovated i-STP which is a wastewater treatment for small village as 3-in-1 treatment system consists in one i-STP. Besides that, one of the most useful stationary that innovated from Taiwan which was a pen. This pen very suitable for every user as it is teach how a people hold the pen for writing purpose with proper ways. Other than that, we can interact with robots at there. How interesting of these technology that surround us!!! Lets explore its! GEC is an interesting events and it is free of entrance fees. Hopefully I have the chance to explore its in my future life.  

My Final Semester - Week 10

Lecture Class

Today lesson is about transaction processing system (TPS). TPS is a system involve of collection, integration, processing and retrieval of all transaction data. It is very important for whole management level. Especially bottom or operation level  acts as an important role along this system. WHY??? This is because top management level used these database which key or collect by operation level to make decision. Therefore, if any mistake which had done by operational level may cause a big influence for whole organization. So, please respect for each organization level as everyone have their own duty and contribute for whole organization. 


The example tools that I had learnt from today in TPS is:

RFID-Radio-frequency identification

It is a small electronic devices that consist of a small chip and an antenna. The chip typically is capable of carrying 2,000 bytes of data or less. It use the radio waves to automatically identify people or objects.

Besides that, we also learnt about ECR-Electronic Cash Register. It is a system designed to made transaction in outlets. It can helps retailer to track sales, collect transaction data and so on. However, this system did not involve any internet system; so, it is not a part of TPS as TPS involve of internet access.

Apart from TPS, we also learnt about innovation curve and product life cycle. For product life cycle very important in this business world as it can help you to identify the end of life cycle to that particular products. So, company can do some R&D to develop a new product instead of end life cycle product to reduce the cost incurred. In addition, material requirements planning (MRP) also important to manufacturing business as they can ensure that able to meet the production level on that day without waste the time and money. For example Yakult required to produce 30000 bottles in one day during working hour, so, the company apply this MRP to ensure that meet the production level without wasting any resources of company. Furthermore, if the company success to use of JUST IN TIME concept in production will save a lot of money of company.

Lab Class

1) Review back to CIP project.

Indeed! We done this!! Although there still had some unsatisfied on our presentation due to we finished in created of website one day before of presentation. So, we not prepared well and practice for our presentation. Apart from that, all pictures that given by Chartaro were in low pixels, so we still unable to find a way modified it and create an attractive menu for our customer; although we had tried our best and use a lot of tools such as Photoshop and Meitu apps to edit these pictures. Besides that, we were not advance in used of wix restaurant to create an attractive menu as limitation of template that we can choose; so, we may required more time to explore it. However, overall I'm satisfied to our website that we created for Chartaro as we had showed our group work and all of us had tried our best to performed a website for Chartaro!!

2) User Generated Contents (UGC)

The first part to develop a website is come out an idea from ourselves. After that, Web 2.0 was developed to share information to each other. In other words called as word of mouth or WOM. The person who introduce to Web 2.0 is Oley. Founder given the idea to provide a platform for users to talk among of them. So, Pinterest, Facebook are some famous example to provide a platform for users. Users can use either words or picture to generate information via this platform. Pinterest is a platform use to combine together the users who had the same idea to each other. Same idea with Google+, there is a platform to connect all peoples who interest to that particular information via communities. So, once you are member of that community, you may share or ask anything in that platform. Apart from that, we had learn about the DOMAIN. The last sentences in URL is called as domain such as .org / .edu / .my / .com / .ent / .tr and these domain required to buy from authority association per year. 

3) PInterest

My Final Semester - Week 9

CIP Presentation

Finally is the day to present our CIP-UPM project for a small food business company! Our first "client" is a small food company mainly serve in pearl milk tea for consumers that called as "CHAR-TARO IN DA HOUSE". In my view, it is a very useful project for student because now is technology world. Everything can be more effectively transfer to consumer via information technology. All of us showed our best to help the Chartaro in creating of website for them and we do not have any past experience in created a website. So, we work together and share any knowledge that we know among each others. Finally, our "baby" website was born. Although there had some unsatisfied to the website, but it was our "baby" as we used our "sweat & blood" to create it. Now, I can do a website belong for me in future. Hopefully I have my own business for future! Thanks  Dr. had make a very meaningful activity for us to explore, also, my teammates we worked together and create an "baby" during my university life!

BLOCKCHAIN? What is Blockchain??

Blockchain is a system uses mathematical tools to chain together records of transactions in a tamper-resistant and transparent manner. It is being used as an alternative or replacement for national currencies, contracts, internet device authentication and more (Victoria Lemieux, 2017). In simple words, blockchain is one of the e-commerce but it is involve of Bitcoin which in is a transparency manner involve any transaction by technology. Nowadays, Bitcoin already exists in the world. So I believe that the currency or notes that we used right now will be instead by Bitcoin. 

Apart from Bitcoin, we also learnt about Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). EDI enables a fast, accurate and reliable exchange of data between the computer systems of organizations that do business together. EDI contribute some of the benefits for company such as reduces or eliminates manual data-entry errors, streamlines transaction processing & increases productivity without increasing staff.

Besides that, there is one of the concept in technology world which is called Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is a concept to link everything to internet. For example, an advance technology which already applied by Tesco Homeplus Virtual Subway Store in South Korea. Since peoples feel boring and do nothing during wait for the train at subway station. Homeplus take this opportunity to offer their products and lets customer to order while they wait for their train arrive. They will be showed their products together the QR code an price on the wall of subway. Customer can use that time to purchase their product just by used their smartphone and scan to the QR code. After online purchased order is done, their grocery will be delivered in front of their house when they get home.

Yes, to be honest, our group haven't update any website until now because we need to meet and get the opinion from our customer. But I believe that my group member able to finish it on time!!!!

2. Excel 2.0

Today, we learnt about how to use formula in excel. Actually, we had learnt it before during Unit Operation class. So, I think that it is not much problems for me - Excel 2.0. My product is about yogurt.

POKEMON GO!!!

Our lesson for today is about AUGMENTED REALITY.. So, What is that?? Is that have any relation to POKEMON GO?

Of course.. Pokemon GO is one of the game apps that used the augmented reality concept which attract many peoples downloaded and used it before this. Augmented reality is a technology used the real world with digital information and media, such as 3D models and videos, overlaying in real-time the camera view of your smartphone, tablet, PC or connected glasses. Pokemon Go used this concept to allow users able to catch virtual Pokemon who are hidden throughout a map of the real world.. They just used their camera and scan over their surrounding; if any Pokemon appear on it, they can catch it and gain bonus.

Today, we also learnt deeply about the E-commerce and E-business. Before we have these technology apps, the "predominant" is known as E-mail. The first intention of email is called as APPA.Net. Then, evolution to become Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and now is the world of Web 3.0. Web 1.0 is a medium to give information only. Then, started to become interactive manner as peoples do engage and interact to each other which called as Web 2.0. Nowadays, IT world start to become smartphone technology apps that called as Web 3.0. Nowadays, many peoples frequently used apps in their daily life including with me! Since, the number of students studies in UPM getting increased recently; however, the demand always unable to meet with "bus supply"during peak hour. So, we force to use Grab apps or Uber apps back to our hostel after finished class. Therefore, nowadays, many peoples may make money by creating an Apps. Now, Dr give a great chance for us to propose an idea with Apps that related with food by used our imagination.

My final semester - Week 6

Lecture class

Today lecturer class we learn about DATA MANAGEMENT. Why we need data management? This is because data management acts as professional to assist us in analysis the data, trend and pattern for us decision making. For instance, a bakery shop used the big data to do analysis and forecasting the sale for the next coming festival. The big data is very useful for people to do analysis and get more information from there. There are some data collection system such as RFID (barcode), TPS (transaction processing system) and ECP (Electronic cash register). Nowadays, most of businessman used the POS (point of sales), one of the part of EPS to collect all data. 

Lab class

Today lab class, we had reviewed our CIP progress. Most of the group already make interview with the in-charge person and collect the related information from them. Our group also had contact with her and the person in charge invite all of us to her new outlet opening and take picture from there to put in their website. Apart from CIP, Dr. also taught us how to download and reuse the picture that available on website legally without copyright issue. We should used proper used the internet with benefit activity, that is known as "Netiquette". In addition, until today I really know how to differentiate between CC and BCC in e-mail. CC is carbon copy while BCC is blind carbon copy that is did not let the receiver know you also send a copy to another person. Also, we had learn ZOOM software. It is an useful software as we can have video call or conference call at anytime and anywhere without travel to the destination. Zoom is better than Skype as it can share anything on it like lecture class while it is the deficiency of Skype.

Wayback & Excel

Lab class for today quite less interesting compared with few weeks ago. Why said like that? Because today we learnt about Microsoft Excel. I think that everyone previously had taken computer class during primary school life and learnt some very much basic on the Excel, Words and Power Point. Although, already return back every knowledge to primary teacher, it still come back again to your brain during higher secondary school and university life. 

Actually we had learnt from it via our dearest UO lecturer as we must used it to complete our lab analysis all the time. So, today lesson quite a little bit boring for me. But just as a revision on how to use Excel. Excel also known as spreadsheet and it is widely useful in workplace. This is because Excel able to help us solve a lot of calculation just by a click in a very short time. Besides that, Excel also can presented in graphic form such as chart, graph to make the report more attractive. Nowadays, we need the efficient and efficiency, so, Excel very useful and save a lot of time to do analysis and report either in industry sector or business sectors. Therefore, as a fresh graduate students, we must exposed our self in advance using of Microsoft  include Words, Excel and Power Point, so it can become one of the competitive advantages during seeking for job. 

Apart from Excel, Dr. Fareed also bring us to another software that can bring us to look back a website. The software called as Wayback machine that help you to do analytics to show how performance of the website since introduce (except SNS: facebook) and it must be a website. Example try to insert the website of UPM: upm.edu.my , then, you can look back when is the first page website of UPM.

Also, there is another one software that can let you know the popularity of your website and others analysis that related with your website; that called as ALEXA. For those marketer can try to use this website to do your marketing plan and implemented it. For instant:you can know when is the popularity of your website and you can do the promotion on that time.

What is that??!!!

ETHICS is the usage manipulating the data for negative activity or message the data for the correct purpose. In others word is right or wrong of information technology usage. If there are unauthorized usage the information technology will cause of "COMPUTER VIRUS"!! They will unauthorized use, access, modification all the database and released of information or copying the software. COMPUTER VIRUS divided into several categories: hacking, cyber theft, unauthorized used at work and piracy.

SECURITY is an information technology to protect confidential data especially as a safeguard to protect the privacy of customer and employees and protect against malicious acts of theft and disruption. In simple words is a measure to anti hacker, anti fraud, anti virus and anti theft. Therefore, security is the most important to protect all the databases. Especially, it is an IT to minimize errors, fraud and losses in e business world that interconnect business with supplier, customer and other stakeholder. So,security is important to protect all the privacy data in IT world.

PRIVACY?? What is that? Is that can eat??

PRIVACY is all data is confidential and only the authority has copyright. Internet privacy must pay more attention because every move made in online can be tracked and IP address can trace location. So, must be aware all activities do in online especially involve with transaction of money. Therefore, PLEASE protect to your password and do not leave any confidential information for someone else!!! 

Privacy include of electronic surveillance, personal information database, information on Internet Bulletin B cards, privacy codes & policies, International aspect of privacy. However, all privacy will be dissolve when enter to court as everyone need to know the happen from your description.

Nowadays, advance information technology system create a world without boundaries to each other. What does it mean????

INTERNET!!!

Every company should have own official website. It can be for the purpose of promote their product to customer, gain the trust from customer, carry out their business around the world and others. Lets think about the Facebook. Young generation start to do their part time on Facebook by selling their product to customer. There are different kinds of things can be seen in Facebook such as clothes,  shoes, make up accessories and even though any kind of food and beverages can be see in Facebook. If anyone able to catch up the market demand, he or she can gain more revenues from that. For example, K-pop affect younger peoples like to eat Korean snack; however, it is difficult to find in Malaysia marketplace. Now, a K-Pop "hero" start to sell in Facebook and now everyone from any country know he has sell the Korean snack food. By this way, the K-Pop" hero can sell his products to everywhere. Now everyone can EAT the Korean snack. From this scenario we known that how information technology advance and we can do anything from Internet. It is one of the competitive advantages for those business man. But it is no call as E-commerce. 

E-business ⤕ you do anything of business online BUT do not involve any transaction on its.

E-commerce ⤗ it is involve purchase an selling activities and there is involve of any transaction in the business.
